Independent rescue
I love rescuing dogs from shelters. It saves 2 lives, one the dog that comes from the shelter and the 2nd one that would otherwise be turned away because there is no room.
We can't save them all but we can make a small difference to that dog who otherwise would have no hope.
In some parts of the country, even the little puppies don't stand a chance in the shelter.

I also do independent rescue. I like to take young BC's and put the basics of herding on them and place them in farm homes where a farmer has not had the privilege of owning or using a working dog. The first time they send a pup to gather the stock to the gate always blows them away and forever more that dog and every one who follows will be honored.
